September 4, 2016   Historical Society Museum Open House 2:00 - 4:00, Stop in and see our ever growing Yearbook Collection and many historical displays.

September 8, 2016   The Assassination of Abe Lincoln & Pursuit of John Wilkes Booth program  *7:30, Steve Long, journalist and editor will describe how Booth was tracked down, who tipped off the law and what happened to Booth’s journal.

October 2, 2016   Historical Society Museum Open House 2:00 – 4:00, Stop in and see our School Collection and many other historical displays or participate in a Scavenger Hunt.

October 13, 2016   From Rockport to West Park program  *7:30, Ralph Pfingsten, author and historian will take us from early beginnings of Rockport Twp.to modern day West Park, Ohio.

November 6, 2016   Historical Society Museum Open House 2:00 – 4:00, Stop in and see our Police and Fire Department Collection and many other historical displays or participate in a Scavenger Hunt.

November 10, 2016   Holiday Party  *7:30 come share appetizers and desserts, and bring a wrapped “white elephant” gift for the regift exchange, also we will play an interactive game ‘Fairview Park/The Details.’ If you would like to bring an appetizer or dessert to share: names beginning with A-M (appetizer), N-Z (dessert).

November 25, 2016   Winterfest, Scavenger Hunt at the Museum, we will start at the same time as the city schedule for Winterfest.  Participate in a FREE Scavenger Hunt for young and old. Or just stop in and browse our ever growing collection of many historical objects.

December 2016 – March 2017 Historical Society Museum, open by request for special events or ‘just because you asked’. See our ever growing Yearbook Collection and many historical objects or bring the family and participate in a Scavenger Hunt for young and old.

March 9, 2017   Civil War Monuments of Ohio program  *7:30 Harold George, The Time Traveler, will visually lead us through the state to locate and explain the significance of Ohio’s Civil War monuments.  

April 13, 2017   The Fairview Park Time Capsule Project  *7:30 Mike Green, our museum Curator will describe his project in detail. What was included in the Time Capsule and why?

May 7, 2017  Historical Society Museum Open House 2:00 – 4:00, Stop in and see our photos of our founding families and many more historical displays or participate in a Scavenger Hunt.

May 11, 2017  Annual Potluck Supper & Elections of Officers, our program for the evening will be Memories and interactive night of sharing photos and memories of Fairview Park, directly following the Potluck Supper and election of officers for 2017-2018.  Please bring a dish to share with 6-8 people, and your own place setting.  Doors open at 6:00 for Meet and Greet, Supper is 6:30 with the program at 7:30.

July 6 - 9, 2017  Summerfest, 25th Anniversary, Let’s make it our best one yet!  Stop by say hello to our volunteers. Learn about our mission, our program and see some interesting historical photographs.


All events are at Bain Park Cabin (except for Summerfest)
Fairview Park history related books, post cards, note cards and more will be available for purchase at all events and programs.
