The eastern border of Fairview Park where it meets the Cleveland Metroparks is known geographically as the Rocky River Valley (or the Rocky River gorge). The river itself, which cuts deep shale cliffs, runs through the Rocky River Reservation.
There are many interesting stories and fun facts about Fairview Park’s history along the banks of the Rocky River and the Metroparks, and we look forward to sharing them with you.

Your membership provides the funds needed to grow and maintain the historical collection. Your dollars cover operating expenses, such as supplies, display holders, paper forms (for onsite visitors), etc. As a member, you receive an annual end-of-year report that shares what went well for the society and what didn’t. You will also get updates on the plans for the upcoming year.
Your membership entitles you and your guests to all society road trips such as special tours, open houses, and breaking bread together, activities that are only open to members.

A one-year, individual membership, is just $10.00, that is less than 3 cents per day.
Share your memories
In 2026 the historical society will be focusing on collecting memories. Your memories might find their way into a new book, title to be determined. At a minimum your memories will be added to our archive files for the next generations to enjoy.
