Our Mission

Per the Cleveland Metroparks…

The eastern border of Fairview Park where it meets the Cleveland Metroparks is known geographically as the Rocky River Valley (or the Rocky River gorge). The river itself, which cuts deep shale cliffs, runs through the Rocky River Reservation.

There are many interesting stories and fun facts about Fairview Park’s history along the banks of the Rocky River and the Metroparks, and we look forward to sharing them with you.

You are always welcome to sit on our porch and enjoy the sights & sounds of the village.

Help preserve Fairview Park history, become a member for just 3 cents per day.

Your membership provides the funds needed to grow and maintain the historical collection. Your dollars cover operating expenses, such as supplies, display holders, paper forms (for onsite visitors), etc. As a member, you receive an annual end-of-year report that shares what went well for the society and what didn’t. You will also get updates on the plans for the upcoming year.

Your membership entitles you and your guests to all society road trips such as special tours, open houses, and breaking bread together, activities that are only open to members.

Membership cost:

$5.00 student

$10.00 individual

$15.00 family (2 adults,same address)

$25.00 business

$100.00 life member (single)

$150.00 life member (2 adults, same address)

A one-year, individual membership, is just $10.00, that is less than 3 cents per day.

Share your memories:

Starting in 2026, the historical society will focus on collecting memories. Your stories will be added to the museum’s files for future generations to enjoy. Your contribution does not have to be lengthy; one-paragraph stories are welcome. Please share your Fairview Park recollections of fun-filled activities, special places or events, good friends, and more. Be sure to include the year, or approximate year, your memory is recalling. We will include these in our museum files.
